The Delicate Delight of Herbaceous Clematis

The improved soil in one of the new raised beds near the house must have been just what this pale blue clematis required. The tiny pale blue flowers look quite wonderful amongst the white Japanese anemones. When I bought it, it was called C. heracleifolia, but has now been renamed C. tubulosa. It’s an easy and undemanding plant that has been waiting in the wings until the last few weeks, but is now taking center stage.
