Chelsea came home from Paris for a long weekend. We picked her up at the train station and went to Carvelle's for lunch. I don't know about you, but as a parent of grown children who live away from home, when they do return nothing else matters. The only feeling I have is joy and the desire to hold them close from here to eternity.

Carvelle is by the old port in Marseille. It is a place that I adore. Why? I love places that remain as they have been, that do not look like every other place. That have character, that serve good food, that are not full of themselves, that speak of where they are rooted.

Authentic.

Have character.

Where I memories intertwine with the moment.

Living in France

Lunch on the balcony.

A view of the port.

A grey sky threatening to take us back to winter.

My daughter talking about her days.

Perfection.

Living in France

After lunch we drove up to Notre Dame.

The view, the colors, the horizon, the simple moment of thanksgiving.

The old port

that has seen and will see more than I will ever know.

And yet it knows me and connects beyond.

I like that.

We took the long way home.

Stopping to take a photo of the sea.

Happy Valentine's ....

it is a love thing.
