Verdict on The Damned
Recap
The movie follows the widowed owner of a fishing station hosting a fishing crew through a harsh winter. However, the calm winter turns into a nightmare when another shipwreck offshore and the residents face an evil spirit.
Best Parts
The movie uses the isolated weather-restricted area perfectly. It creates paranoia which consumes the characters. This also plays into the unknown evil that lurks between their minds and reality, never quite letting us believe which is taking control. The performances are great throughout. Meanwhile, we get a small sense of ‘The Thing’ and the psychology of what is happening to the residents at the fishing station.
Final Thoughts – The Damned is an excellent, atmospheric horror that will leave your jaw-dropped.
