The CW’s hammer, or axe, or tennis racket, or whatever proverbial device they swing at the network, came down today. Judgement was decided upon the six bubble series, as well as the Freshman pilots.
Good news came to Beauty And The Beast, which will return for a third season next year. Hart Of Dixie is also coming back, as is Freshman series The 100, which has been earning solid reviews (almost unheard of for CW shows).
This meant bad news for returning series The Carrie Diaries, as well as freshman hopefuls The Tomorrow People and Star Crossed.
As far as the new shows go, The CW had two spinoffs on its plate, and chose one. The Flash, long considered a sure-fire candidate, has been picked up, whereas Bloodlines, the Supernatural spinoff, has been passed on. The network also issued series orders to iZombie, The Messengers, and Jane The Virgin. They passed on Identity.
