The CoronaVirus Lottery

MK Ofir Sofer (Yamina) came up with an interesting idea to encourage people to get tested for CoronaVirus, in light of what they are saying is a drastic decrease in testing among the public. Sofer presented his idea to the Health Ministry, and to the Payis Institute, and they have picked up the ball - they decided it is a good idea and are rolling with it.
Sofer's suggesting is that to encourage people to get tested, Mifal HaPayis and the Ministry of Health should raffle off 10,000nis each and every day among all people who get tested for CoronaVirus that day. Mifal Hapayis has allocated 300,000nis per month for this project.
the program is being put together and is expected to begin within the coming weeks.
According to Channel 12 News, the officials are still debating whether to hold the raffle/lottery among all people who get tested any given day or only those tested in hot spots.
Personally I'll be happy to go get tested every single day to qualify for the raffle, if they open it up to everyone who gets tested and not just hotspots. I have already been tested twice (BH negative both times) and see no reason why not to.
I think the funding is coming largely from Mifal Hapayis, if not completely, but really they could use some of the money collected from all the fines for this as well. That would totally be a legitimate use.
