My look for the day; Atelier 61 - Beaded Collar Dress
Clothes Show Live takes place from 7th to 11th December 2012 at the NEC Birmingham, and not only was I excited about attending the UK's top fashion and beauty event, but I was also going with my lovely old uni friend. We were both super ready for some bargain hunting and some fashion/beauty finding..
We decided it would be a more relaxing time if we stayed on the Friday night, at the fantastic Crowne Plaza NEC before the event. So after our day jobs we ventured to meet at the hotel for an evening of complete pampering all in prep for the Clothes Show the next day. Often I tend to find on a Friday night I'll go out have drinks, then feel tired and drained the day after, so instead of that happening this time we put pampering plans in place to avoid that in the form of hair masks, face masks, nails, feet and yummy food!
The show was introduced by the fabulous Brit designer Henry Holland we got to see a show full of fashion, dance and of course a hint of music - and on the day we attended we got to see X-Factor Boot camp rejects Times Red (The 3 piece boy band who were part of Louis Walsh's groups), they certainly could sing and for the young ladies in the audience, it was as if Christmas had come early!
We then had a check list of various lists on a check list that happens at a fashion magazines such as their various photo shoots, awards or parties. As you can see from the photo approve BINTM 2011, Jade Thompson graced the stage with some hunky looking male models. I think this photo speaks for itself! The show was spectacular as always because not only is there a great amount of fashion, but they have an amazing dance team who were doing all sorts of amazing choreography.
My favorite part of the main show was seeing the elegant dresses. I fell in love with this white strapless floor length gown.
There honestly was so much to see and keep you guessing - to the point that the dance team came out and were doing Gangam Style routine on stage! Which as you can imagine got all the crowd going.
Overall the show was spectacular, a superb mixture of music, dance moves and of course some immense fashion designs and edge looks. Why not check out the various looks from the stage show by clicking here. If you do get a chance to head to the clothes show this year or next - the main show is a must!!
After the show we both decided to head on the non stop shopping, to see what was out there. I immediately divded straight into the Models Own stand to indluge into some new shades for my nail polish collection, but there were a variety of beauty brands including enw upcoming ones. Celebrities were walking about including stars from TOWIE and my friend and I literally bumped into Amy Childs on our mission across the hall!
The Clothes Show has changed since I first started going, but one of my main loves is still there which is vintage. Myself and my friend hunted about the stores full of interesting articles and picked out our favourite items.... I went for a sparkled jumper (I seem to be loving them this season) and she went for a black oversized beaded jumper. We got them for a bargain of £25.00 for 2!
There you have it my round of the Clothes Show Live 2012, all I can say is if you love to shop, love to hunt for a bargain then this is the show for you. One major tip is getting in there early before it gets too busy, researching where you want to go and also making sure you always go to see the show at the Fashion Theatre.
If you missed out on the Clothes Show this year don't panic, you can read all about it on their website. You can also find out about next years as soon as the tickets are released. Don't miss out!
