Story: The Climb starts as we meet the two best friends Kyle (Marvin) and Mike (Covino). The pair have been lifelong friends, despite things going wrong in their lives. After years apart, the two get reunited for Kyle’s wedding.

Thoughts on The Climb

The Climb will bring us a comedy about life, friendship and how times change. We will see the film jump through lives, with different positions in the friendship. Each stage will show a different problem the other is having. Showing us how even when you might not be as close, you will still need each other. Seeing the different moments in life that friends experience is a nice touch, because most of the comedy falls short. Having the split times, can take away from the bigger story though. Holding back the moments between, where life might not be going as well.

Kyle Marvin and Michael Angelo Covino put a lot of work into this movie. Working on writing and directing this movie, as well as taking the starring roles in the movie. The pair do work very well together, showing the natural chemistry they have from working together. In the supporting cast we do get strong performances, even if some characters are only in certain chapters. ‘Men‘ Gayle Rankin is one of the love interests in the movie, getting to show the eccentric partner to Kyle. Each location that we see, will bring us another story we find the pair going through, reflecting life’s journey.
