On the 22nd April, I attended, The City Magazine Runway Fashion Show. The show started shortly after 7pm and it started with a bang! The designs of Fahd were the first on display, the only way I can describe them is ‘think Vogue, think BIG, think Madonna’. They were simple yet extravagant. Fahd definitely has a talent and one day he may be, the next Alexander McQueen. He’s got all the charisma and passion of a Hollywood designer, think Gaga. If you want unique and different, Fahd’s designs are most certainly for you.
Next up was the beautiful, Anfal Al Saleh. A very different showcase from the last, this time, imagine Jennifer Hudson, red carpet and The Oscars. Anfal’s designs were graceful, elegant and in a whole different league of their own. This designer has the potential to be dressing the A-List stars for Grammy awards. I wish her every success in the future.
The final display of the night came from Shayma Al Jouma. Her designs were more of a Kuwaiti style origin less Hollywood which was nice. It was nice to see some traditional clothing in there whether it was smart and elegant or casual. Shayma Al Jouma used child models too which was a nice twist. A few of her outfits would be wonderful for walking season here in Kuwait, I look forward to seeing more from this designer.

And finally, a BIG, BIG thank you to Basma Sultan, PR at The City Magazine and to everyone that was involved including L’occitane for their generous freebies. It was a fabulous evening, great atmosphere and fantastic company. Thank you all.
Looking forward to next year’s event!
