The Choice by Nora Roberts

By Pamelascott

It's time for the final reckoning....

With Odran's defeat at the Battle of the Dark Portal, his quest to rule over Talamh and Breen has stalled - for now. But the terrible battle and heart-breaking losses have taken their toll. It's a time as painful as any Breen has ever known as she helps to treat the wounded, bring the dead home from blood-and ash-soaked battlegrounds and support her friends and family in their grief.

With the enemy cast out and the portal sealed it is a time to recover but there is little time to rest. Soon the enemy's witches begin to appear to Breen in her sleep, practicing black magic, sacrificing the innocent, and plotting brutal destruction. It is time for Breen to seek out those in desperate need of rescue and confront the darkness with every weapon she has.

An epic battle is coming. A battle Breen cannot afford to lose....

I loved The Choice, the riveting conclusion to the Dragon Heart Legacy trilogy. Breen, Marcus and the Talamh's stories come full circle here. Like the other books I loved the blend of the real world Breen and Marcus need to visit occasionally and the fantastic world of Talamh. There are a lot of battles in this book as Breen, Marcus and the Talamh take the fight to insane God Odran and his loyal supporters. There are also less dramatic events as Breen gains even more success as a novelist, Marco finds love and prepares to make a life with handsome Brian, one of the Talamh's and Breen makes peace with her cruel, belittling mother. But it's the battle to save Talamh and top Odran that's the core of this book. I loved the way the trilogy ends. I'd recommend this.
