Founded in 2017 as an act of protest against the inauguration of Donald Trump, the Chicago Women’s March is an unofficial sister to the larger, national event held in D.C. In keeping with last year’s political theme, the 2018 rally  is entitled “March to the Polls” and aims to protract the message of resistance, justice and equality many activists have carried throughout President Trump’s first year in office, as well as place focus on the upcoming 2018 elections.

The protest’s main organizers – Women’s March on Chicago – have made it their mission to advocate for and empower the voices of marginalized folk across the city.

Saturday’s event will kick-off around 9am at the intersection of Congress and Columbus, with the rally set to begin at 11am. The march itself will occur at 12:30pm, and will continue out of the intersection and onto Michigan, Jackson and Clark.

All who are interested are welcome to join in the Chicago Women’s March and are encouraged to make signs, posters and flyers. And while it isn’t required, you can register to attend via Facebook or the Chicago Women’s March website.
