Plot: An American family moves into Canterville Chase, a stately countryside mansion that has been haunted by the ghost of Sir Simon De Canterville for 300 years.

Story: The Canterville Ghost starts when the Otis family move into the legendary Canterville Manor. Eldest child Virginia keeps to herself and ends up meeting the ghost of Simon de Canterville. She makes a bet with him that he wouldn’t be able to scare her family out of the home in two-weeks.

However, Sir Simon struggles to be as frightening as he believes. This leads the family members just ignoring him, until Virginia starts searching for the truth about what happened before.

Verdict on The Canterville Ghost

The Canterville Ghost is an animated comedy following an American family moving into a haunted English mansion. They find themselves being haunted by the hapless Sir Simon de Canterville. However, his reason for remaining around only opens up a bigger mystery.

This is a fun animation, it brings to life a fabled tale and adds the modern spin blending with the era of the ghost. It creates laughs along the way and a story about changing what people see in life. While it might be a pretty tame overall story, it gets to have fun at lasting legacies. It shows that time changes and things become different for everyone in the world. With a strong voice cast, we get a fun movie for the family.
