  • Xiaomi introduced the Poco C3 in India.
  • Tech specs include a triple rear camera array, 5,000 mAh battery, and 6.53-inch display.
  • It is now Poco's cheapest smartphone in India.

The Xiaomi brand Poco is no stranger to India's fierce budget smartphone battle. To bolster its ranks, it announced today the Poco C3, the cheapest Poco phone available.

At this price point, you probably shouldn't expect ambitious, unique designs from the company. The Poco C3 shares most of its specs with the Redmi 9C, a phone that launched in Europe and other global markets earlier this year.

Aesthetically, Poco has given the C3 its own touch, and compared to its cousin Redmi it is probably the better eye-catcher. There is a two-tone finish on the back, while the company logo is just below the square camera array. It is also available in three colors: Arctic Blue, Lime Green and Matte Black.

The Poco C3 has a 6.53-inch HD + display with an aspect ratio of 20: 9. Internally, a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset connects up to 4 GB of RAM (1 GB more than the Redmi 9C) and 64 GB of storage . There are also dedicated microSD and dual SIM slots. On the back of the Poco C3 there is a 13-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

A 5,000 mAh battery gives users 14 hours of non-stop gaming, according to Poco. The brand also believes that the battery is capable of charging cycles in excess of three years before any significant degradation occurs.

In terms of price and availability, the Poco C3 will also be available in a 3GB / 32GB variant starting at Rs 7,499 (~ $ 102). The higher quality 4GB / 64GB model costs Rs 8,999 (~ $ 123). This is an downright aggressive price, especially when compared to Realme's C series and other phones under Rs 10,000 in India. However, you will have to wait until October 16 to buy one on Flipkart.
