The music video for Minaj and Cassie’s recent collaboration was released on Thursday.
Minaj quietly released the “The Boys,” the first single from her upcoming re-release Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up, in September.
The Young Money artist collaborated with Bad Boy musician Cassie on the track, with Minaj laying down three verses alongside Cassie’s electro-infused vocals.
It’s not secret that this pairing is unexpected; Cassie hasn’t been relevant since her 2006 début. That’s not to say that the artist doesn’t have what it takes, just that she’s been missing in action for quite some time.
Thanks to the recent release of a sultry music video, “The Boys,” is getting a lot more buzz. And thanks to Minaj, so is Cassie. Take a catchy song, pair it with a colorful video, and there you go: 15 minutes of fame.
Last month Cassie dropped a mixtape, Rock-A-Bye Baby, and a single, “Balcony” featuring Young Jeezy. Her second studio album is currently in the works.
Minaj’s forthcoming album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up, drops on November 19.
