Plot: Two Irish brothers accidentally killed mafia thugs. They turned themselves in and were released as heroes. They then see it as a calling by God and started knocking off mafia gang members one by one. Willem Dafoe plays the detective trying to figure out the killings, but the closer he was to catching the Irish brothers, the more he thinks the brothers are doing the right thing.
Verdict: Vigilante Saints
Story: When the world has become too made with crime, these two brothers decided to fight back by taking out all the criminals in the city. Being chased by a FBI agent who starts to question whether they are right or wrong. So we have two different crime syndicates who are against each other who both become targets from the brothers who just want the people to be safe. With all the action you need and being shot with the aftermath first before going back into the action. (8/10)
Actor Review
Willem Dafoe: Paul an FBI agent who takes on the case and with his talent to spot a clue solves every incident on every crime scene. As the story continues he starts to wonder whether he should stop the saints as they look like they are cleaning up the city. Good performance from Dafoe who is wildly flamboyant. (8/10)
Sean Patrick Flanery: Connor MacManus one half of the brothers who go to church say their prayers, go to work, get drunk. Things change after a bar fight leading him to team up with his brother to take out all the low lives in the city. Good performance from Sean who has perfect timing with Norman. (8/10)
Norman Reedus: Murphy MacManus the other brother who like his brother has the same rituals. He becomes part of the saints to take out the low lives of the city. Good performance from Norman showing he was kicking arse years before Daryl Dixon came along. (8/10)
David Della Rocco: Rocco a hot heated low ranking criminal in the Mafia, who after being set up joins the saints to help expose everyone involved in the criminal underworld. His loose cannon style will lead them to get into more than they can handle. Good performance showing how the saints are calm but could lose control. (8/10)
Billy Connolly: Il Duce the ruthless assassin sent to stop the saints, he is a skilled fighter and a man of very little words. Good supporting performance in a role that you will remember once he turns up. (8/10)
Director Review: Troy Duffy – Good direction to create a beautifully shot vigilante action film. (8/10)
Action: Plenty of fire fights keeping the action flowing. (9/10)
Thriller: You always want to know what the saints will do next. (9/10)
Settings: The settings used are generic criminal locations but also help identify how high ranking the criminals being targeted are. (7/10)
Suggestion: This is one for the action fans to enjoy, it has plenty of action and heroes you can cheer for. (Action Fans Watch)
Best Part: Norman and Sean have great chemistry
Worst Part: Generic idiotic cops.
