Story: The Blood of Saltville starts when shady lawyer Grady Richmond (Price) returns to Saltville after 20 years away. His mother has just passed, and his brother Seth (Michalos) makes a terrible discovery about their ancestors. Meanwhile, Grady helps murderers get off crimes and shady businessmen complete development deals.
However, once construction starts things spiral out of control. The people in the area don’t take too kindly to strangers on their land.
Verdict on The Blood of Saltville
Recap
The movie follows a shady lawyer who returns home and gets involved in questionable law decisions. It unlocks a secret he never knew about and the history of the local area that they are not proud of.
Best Parts
The movie gives us an insight into how history has been left haunting communities and families have continued to search for justice. Where the movie shines the most is with how even after 150 years, there are still divides and people taking advantage of others.
Worst Parts
The movie has an interesting idea but it takes a big tonal shift out of nowhere. It can rock the final third of the movie, as nothing before has suggested we would end up there.
Final Thoughts –The Blood of Saltville brings us an interesting social thriller.
