Story: The Black Demon starts when an oil company man Paul (Lucas) takes his family Ines (Urrejola), Audrey (Ariel) and Tommy (Solorzano) to one of his Mexican oil rigs. However, when they arrive in town, they find themselves unwelcome. When Paul goes out to the rig, he finds only two crew members Chato (Cedillo) and Junior (Jimenez).

Meanwhile, Ines faces the aggressive locals, with her only option being to take the kids out to the rig. However, on the rig, the family learns the disturbing news that a megalodon is hunting the waters. Now, the survivors must figure out how to escape without any communication.

Verdict on The Black Demon

The Black Demon is an action horror following a company man and his family that get stranded on an oil rig. To make matters worse they find themselves being hunted by a Megalodon that has already killed most of the crew. They must figure out how to escape and stop the megalodon from causing more suffering.

Shark movies have become a major part of cinema ever since Jaws terrified the world. We have seen plenty of them over the years and this is the latest one. It looks to focus on mixing a couple of major factors, global warming, selfish businesses and cultural beliefs. While this side of everything gets to point at bigger issues at play, the movie does seem to hold back a lot of the shark-related action.

Nevertheless, we get a fun little shark movie that feels like an appetite for the summer shark season. If you are a fan of Deep Blue Sea, you will get a lot of enjoyment out of this movie.
