The Bird Who Came to Breakfast

Honiara, Solomon Islands / May 2016: It was my first time in this small Pacific country and I stayed here for a week but, also for the first time, I have not taken much photos of the new place and thus did not have much to report. The best stories of enchanting beaches, stunning dive sites, WWII wrecks and historical spots, and culturally-rich village life I reckon are out in the islands or further away from the main town. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to venture too far away from the comfort of my hotel. On the second day I was alone, I took my camera and sat at the breakfast table, still undecided if I should venture out. And then this bird came and she became my only story of the Solomons. At least until I get another chance to visit and do a proper exploration of the islands.
