The persistentgamedataX.dat are the save files, and we are going to explain how to find them
The Binding of Isaac Save File Location – Windows
Path where you will find all your save games or save files:
Windows Save File Location (depending on your game version)
- Rebirth: %UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Rebirth\
- Afterbirth+: %UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+\
- Repentance: %UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Repentance\
Requirement: at least x1 Save Game
Do you need help to find the way? Follow these steps:
- First Press Windows + R
- Then Copy “%UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Rebirth\
- Now Paste it in the run window
- Finally Press OK
Unhide Hidden Folders
You may have to enable the option to show hidden files:
- Click on the Start Button > Go to the Control Panel
- Now to Folder Options > View tab (under Hidden files and folders)
- Select Show hidden files and folders.
The Binding of Isaac Save File Location – Steam
Path where you will find all your save games or save files:
Steam Save File Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[user_id]\250900\remote\
Requirement: at least x1 Save Game

- Now Paste it in the run window
- Finally Press OK

Requirement: at least x1 Save Game
How To restore a Save file?
- Go to the save files folder (check the previous tutorials depending on your system)
- Notice that The ones that have numbers infront of them are old save files
- The first thing you have to do is to delete the current save files (the ones withiut numbers in front)
- Then we search for the files when they last worked correctly
- Cut off the date at the beginning
- Load up the game and you should have your save files back
