After winter, spring always comes
Had enough of the cold yet? We have too. As it’s often said, spring is just around the corner. To give you something to look forward to, here are some awesome things to do in Chicago during spring.
The Orchid Show
February 11 – March 26, 2017
One of the most beloved annual showcases at the Chicago Botanic Garden returns this spring to celebrate one of the world’s most adored flowers. You’ll be inspired by fashion made from orchids and amazed by one that’s 15 feet tall! You can even shop for orchids to bring home. This exhibit takes place each day from 10am – 4pm.
“Specimens: Unlocking the Secret of Life” Exhibit
March 10, 2017 – January 8, 2018
Debuting at The Field Museum this spring is an all-new exhibit that focuses on rare creatures, fossils, and organic material that’s been kept in scientific record to tell amazing stories of natural life. We can’t wait to learn about how these specimens teach us about the universe.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade
March 11, 2017
Who doesn’t love St. Patty’s? True Chicagoans go all out for St. Patrick’s Day and it’s not a party without the annual parade and iconic green Chicago River. The dyeing begins at 9am and the parade takes off at noon. We know you wouldn’t miss this!
March Madness
March 14 – April 3, 2017
Make sure your brackets are ready! NCAA Tournaments will be sweeping the nation once again, and it gets better. The United Center was chosen to host the 2017 NCAA Frozen Four for the first time ever. Chicago Flower & Garden Show
March 18 – 26, 2017
Visit Navy Pier to see over 20 life-sized gardens, participate in gardening seminars and DIY workshops, and collect fun items from a floral marketplace. They’ve even got activities for kids too. This event from the Chicago Horticulture Society runs Sunday through Wednesday from 10am – 6pm, and Thursday through Saturday from 10am – 8pm.

March 27 – April 2, 2017
Chicago might be the town for comedy, so you can expect an improv festival to be top-notch. Emerging talent coming from this city will surely bring some much needed laughs after a cold winter. The festival is held at multiple venues throughout the city. Submissions are currently open for budding comedians.

It’s not spring until everyone’s had their proper dose of bunnies, candy, and painted eggs. More importantly, it’s prime time for brunchin’.
