After the start marked by London Collections: Men, the Milano Moda Uomo event took place in the Italian fashion capital between the 17 th and 21 st of June 2016.
From Gucci and Versace to Moncler Gamme Bleu and Marni, almost every type of aesthetic, vision and take on the season was represented.

Putting a spin on the Regency era, Ports 1961 presented a collection that played with 18 th-19 th century motifs in a modern and updated way.
Print, shine, structure - these are some of the elements that a great outfit must have. This outfit from the Christian Pellizzari collection has all the ingredients of a good casual summer outfit and makes great "outfit of the day" inspiration.
We are big fans of Canali and are always happy to take a look at their latest creations. From their spring-summer 2017 collection, which featured many sharp tailored suits and separates, which is one of the main Canali staples, this belted outfit was our favorite. If you ever wondered how to wear a belt over a suit jacket, here's how you can do it! Loved the tightness and the attached accessory!
Architectural, balanced and cohesive - these are the three words that describe this look by Marni best. We really enjoyed the play with colors and lines, which created interesting planes.
This very flowy look from the Versace collection caught our attention due to its contrast-based construction. The pieces have a loose, relaxed build, which is very masculine, but the impression and vibe is that of a feminine appearance. Well done!
This look from the Pal Zileri collection was one of our favorite looks from the whole event. It is so relaxed and summer that it encapsulates a lot of the spirit of the concept of a spring-summer season.
Summer always goes hand in hand with soft and elegant clothes. The Boglioli spring-summer 2017 collection proposed many looks that featured soft color combinations, either of the same color in different shades or of colors that lie close to one another on the color wheel. This type of combinations is the ultimate elegance.
If you can put a colorful spin on a jumpsuit and not make it look dreadful, you might be on to something. Label Richmond not only made colorful sportswear look great, but they also made it look simple and deep.
With her latest collection, Vivienne Westwood made a gender-fluid proposition. Many of her individual garments as well as some of her entire outfits were very androgynous and used many visually appealing motifs, which were mixed in an eclectic way that can be very much discussed and interpreted.
Daks offered a very serious approach to the season, with intense colors and rich materials shaping their collection. We really enjoyed the color combinations, which, while very grounded and heavy, were still fun and dynamic.
This over the top look came from a camp and exaggerated collection that didn't shy away from being bold and beautiful. Moncler Gamme Bleu is a label that is always offering interesting looks that are borderline costume. We really love Moncler Gamme Bleu for this: they know how far they can go without turning their collections in theater costumes: they go very far, but keep it fashion.
The Gucci collection was extremely dreamlike and took us to a world of childhood fantasy. The boyish looks of the collection were some of the best outfits that came out of Milan this season. Great job!
Looking over all these looks and trying to sum them up and identify some trends, we can notice that color and mixing colors are back in style in the world of menswear. It looks like designers are offering a colorful palette of styles and designs for the next summer; many of the collections featuring bright colors, intricate prints and strong textures. Shine and beautiful details were also among the more noticeable points of the collections.
The men's fashion world is currently in a strange place: designers are using classic items which they are constantly updating in different ways and at the same time setting the standards for new classics; so we're definitely looking forward to what they'll do next.
