Given the unprecedented success of the original Apple Watch, it's not really a shock to see that the company has updated its popular smart wearable every year to maintain its huge lead over lagging competition. A slew of new iOS gadgets were released over the course of 2019, and Apple also unveiled the fifth series (which, confusingly, is a sixth generation update) of the Apple Watch event last September, at its annual launch at the end of summer.

Apple Watch Series 4
The fourth series Apple Watch is still available for purchase and there are lots of great deals and news about the latest and greatest technology all the time. Our own Apple enthusiasts have spent a lot of time with the Apple Watch Series 4 and have lots of great things to say, but here's a quick rundown to get you up to speed:
The Apple Watch Series 4 runs on the WatchOS 5 firmware, which offers improved fitness and health data, a walkie-talkie function and a podcast app. Both the 44mm and 40mm Apple Watch Series 4 have higher screen resolutions compared to the Series 3, and the fourth generation wearable runs on an updated Apple S4 chip. The Apple Watch 4 is available from most online retailers. So if you see a Series 4 in the future, the latest iteration of the new Series 5 is the perfect time today to get one at a discount.
Apple Watch Series 3
The cheapest version of the iOS watch (which you can still easily find new) is the Apple Watch Series 3, which pairs very well with the iPhone X. The third generation Apple Watch 3 was released in 2017 and runs on the newer S3 chip, which is 70% faster than the S2 and S1P that were included in previous models. The new Apple Watch Series 3 GPS system works great too. A built-in barometric altimeter complements the already extensive suite of Apple Watch fitness tracking functions - everything is backed up by fantastic battery life. With a heart rate monitor and a variety of different apps, this watch can also be used as a great fitness tracking device that is comparable or even superior to any Fitbit.

This LTE feature essentially turns your smartwatch into a mini smartphone or iPhone, allowing you to send and receive calls and texts right from your wrist without the need for a synced iPhone. The LTE cellular model also has 16 GB more storage. There are also quite a few Apple Watch sports bands from Nike, stylish leather and metal bands, and other accessories that you won't find in an Apple store, like the Fog Sport Band, Pink Sand Sport Band, Sport Loop Band, and more .
It used to start at $ 329 for the non-cellular model and at $ 399 for the LTE-equipped cellular version. Today, however, the Apple Watch Series 3 is much cheaper, making it the best iOS smartwatch for price-conscious Apple fans. They are available in space gray, rose gold and white. Note, however, that sometimes the cheapest ones come in just one color.
