The Best Bridal (and Everyday) Beauty Products by All Made Up

By Jax

Auckland Make-up Artist Hayley Amundsen, owner of All Made Up knows her stuff when it comes to finding the best beauty products around. Here are Hayley’s carefully selected top 10 beauty products that will have you looking your best for your special day (or everyday!) I have popped ALL of these on my beauty wishlist… soooooo dangerous!!! xox

1

This is the ultimate blushing-bride-blush that suits almost every skin tone. The perfect shade of peachy-pink with subtle flecks of gold will warm up your complexion while still looking natural and youthful.

Nars Powder Blush in Orgasm

2

This tiny compact is everything you need to hide blemishes, redness or pigmentation. The lightweight, creamy concealer is paired with a pressed powder for long lasting coverage. It’s the perfect size to keep in your purse for any touch-ups throughout the day.

Bobbi Brown Concealer

3

I’ve been obsessed with this product for years! Use it after your moisturiser as a skin primer for an extra dewy, long lasting complexion. This will truly give you that fresh bridal glow that every bride aims for.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

4

These are amazing! For all day longwearing eye shadow that won’t crease these little pots of perfection are my go-to for creating beautiful modern eyes.

Use just one color by itself or pat a lighter shade over the top of base color to make eyes pop. Line and smoke out under eye for some extra pretty definition. Be sure to blend these quickly, as they set fast.

Bobbi Brown Cream Shadows

5

This super indulgent hair treatment will have your hair looking its best come the day you say, “I do”. Enriched with 4 precious oils that adapt to your specific hair needs. This will feed you locks with the moisture and shine it needs to look healthy and luscious. Use a few months in advance to have your hair in the best possible condition for your big day.

Kerastase Elixir

6

A trust worthy waterproof mascara is a must-have for every bride to be. This not only lasts all day, but the super fine bristled wand will allow you to coat every lash with precision resulting in pretty, natural lux lashes. Curl lashes if you need to, then apply two coats of mascara right up to the roots of the lashes using a zigzag action. Apply a fine coat on bottom lashes with the tip of the wand.

Lancome Hypnose Waterproof Mascara

7

This brand spanking new nail topcoat from Mac adds a new dimension to your standard boring bridal manicure. Paint it over your pale peach or pink base to illuminate and give you nails a subtle pretty glow.

Mac Liquid Pigment for nails

8

For smooth baby soft skin I swear by this Lactic and Hydroxy acid exfoliating mask by Dermalogica. Its full on natural fruit enzymes that detach dead skin cells to improve skin texture. Start using this at least three months leading up to your wedding, one to two times a week. Follow with a serum or skin treatment that suits your individual skin needs.

Dermalogica Gentle Cream Exfoliant

9

This product is my favorite illuminator on the market. Its liquid form makes it lightweight and easy to blend. Dab a small amount onto the high points of your face or mix a little in with you foundation.

Benefit High Beam

10

This lightweight foundation is always in my kit as its perfect for anything from bridal, editorial and even every day make-up. Just build it up to create a natural, flawless base. It also works well on the body in covering any discoloration such as redness or pigmentation.

I also like the way it is completely SPF free. (If you are going to be outside on your wedding day, avoid anything higher than an SPF 15 as you look like ‘Casper The Friendly Ghost’ in your wedding photographs!) It is imperative to find the right shade that matches your skin color perfectly. You may even need to mix two different shades to get the perfect match. Test the foundation on your jawline and downwards onto your neck. The color that blends in effortlessly is the right shade.

Mac Face & Body Foundation
