But what many people don’t know is that there are specific ways to color in order to get the most out of the experience. In this article, we will discuss the benefits of coloring for stress relief and provide some tips on how to get the most out of your coloring sessions. It can be difficult not to think about other things while coloring, but that’s actually the whole point: you want to clear your mind and focus on the present moment. So try and let go of all thoughts and engage in this activity with no expectations.

Increases relaxation- Coloring reduces anxiety by slowing down your breathing rate and reducing stress hormones; this is one of the main reasons why practicing this technique can be very effective for people with ADD.

Decrease levels of cortisol- This hormone is often referred to as the “stress hormone.” Coloring can help decrease its production and combat stress altogether!

Reduces pain- Did you know that coloring has been proven to reduce, or even get rid of, some types of chronic pain? The reason behind this is coloring stimulates the production of serotonin and melatonin, which eases the pain.

Increases creativity- Coloring offers a great challenge: achieving perfection can be difficult given there is no such thing as a perfect line or shape. As you try to create the perfect image time after time, this exercise will enhance your imagination and help you get out of your comfort zone!

Butterflies, flowers, trees, etc.- These beautiful images are great for beginners. They are simple to color, but they provide you with a challenge because there is no specific pattern or figure to follow.

Abstract designs- These pictures are perfect for those who need a creative outlet. They don’t have any specific shape or pattern, but if you want to color them properly you’ll have to free your imagination and let go of all thoughts.

Here are a few other tricks I like to use to help me get the most out of my coloring sessions:

– Take breaks as needed throughout your session

– Practice mindfulness as you color

– If you’re using markers, be sure to protect your coloring book with special paper or plastic sleeves

– Try not to think about other things that are stressing you out – just focus on the present moment and what’s in front of you
