(Paris) The pandemic of the new coronavirus has made at least 648 577 dead worldwide since the WHO office in China reported the onset of the disease in late December, according to a report established by AFP from official sources Monday at 7 a.m.

More than 10 246 348 cases of infection were officially diagnosed in 192 countries and territories since the start of the epidemic, including at least 9 168 419 are today ' hui considered cured.
This number of diagnosed cases, however, only reflects a fraction of the actual number of contaminations. Some countries only test severe cases, others prioritize testing for tracing, and many poor countries have limited testing capacity.
On Sunday, 2600 new deaths and 218 752 new cases have been identified around the world. The countries which recorded the most new deaths in their last reports are India with 680 new deaths, Brazil (549) and the United States United (518).
The United States is the most affected country in terms of both deaths and cases, with 140 935 deaths for 4 218 140 cases identified, according to the count from Johns Hopkins University. At least 1 295 863 people have been declared cured.
After the United States, the most affected countries are Brazil with 85 0 004 dead for 2 419 87 case, UK with 35 752 dead (299 case), Mexico with 35 650 dead (350 426 case), and Italy with 34 100 dead (235 107 case).
Among the hardest hit countries, Belgium is the one that deplores the highest number of deaths in relation to its population, with 082 death for 098 inhabitants, followed by the United Kingdom (61), Spain (57), Italy (61), and Sweden (54).
China (excluding the territories of Hong Kong and Macao) officially counted a total of 83 891 case (61 new between Sunday and Monday), including 4634 deaths and 67 918 healings.
Europe totaled, Monday at 7 a.m., 196 082 death for 3 67 979 case, the Latin America and the Caribbean 171 168 death (4 392 800 case), the United States and Canada 146 854 death (4 299 0 54 case), Asia 56 914 death (2 517 0 025 case), the Middle East 24 600 death (1 091 235 case), Africa 16 757 death (848 612 case), and Oceania 192 death (16 648 case).
This report was carried out using data collected by AFP offices from the competent national authorities and information from the World Health Organization (WHO). Due to corrections made by the authorities or late publication of the data, the increase figures on 17 hours may not correspond exactly to those posted the day before.

Near 650 dead
The pandemic made nearly 650 000 dead in the world since the end of December, according to a report established by AFP from official sources Monday at 7 am.
At least 10, 27 millions of cases have been officially diagnosed in 192 countries and territories.
The United States is the most affected country with 140 935 death, in front of Brazil (85 0 004), the United Kingdom (43 708), Mexico (45 680) and Italy (34 100).
China: record of new cases
Mainland China registered 58 new patients with COVID – 17 in 19 hours, a record since mid-April, following the appearance of foci of infection in three provinces of the country. However, no death from COVID – 16 has not been registered in China since mid-May.
Hong Kong: mask required
Wearing a mask in public will become compulsory on Wednesday in Hong Kong: the authorities unveiled on Monday a series of measures to curb the upsurge in cases, including the ban on public gatherings of more than two people.
More than a hundred cases have been recorded daily in the former British colony over the past five days, bringing the total number of contaminations in this city of 7.5 million inhabitants to 2600 for 17 death.
Australia: record of new cases
Australia recorded on Monday 549 new cases in 24 hours, a record since the start of the pandemic which shows how the country is struggling to contain the sources of contamination in the state of Victoria.
This southern state of which Melbourne is the capital is the epicenter of a second wave that is taking longer than expected to ebb. Partial containment was ordered two weeks ago in and around Melbourne.
Papua: confined capital
The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea on Monday ordered the containment of the capital Port Moresby and warned that the number of cases could sharply increase in the coming days, after a first confirmed death from COVID – 17.
Saudi Arabia: reduced pilgrimage
Saudi Arabia will host the great Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca this week with a very small number of worshipers due to the pandemic, which will be a first in modern history.
Only 07 Saudis and foreign residents of the kingdom are allowed to perform the hajj this year against 2.5 million pilgrims last year.
Germany: travelers tested in Bavaria

Belgium: “worrying” increase
Belgium has recorded in recent days a “worrying” increase in COVID cases – 16, in particular in the province of Antwerp (north), according to the health authorities. France: Breton beaches closed
To stop an outbreak of COVID cases – 16, the beaches, parks and gardens of the Breton towns of Quiberon and Saint-Pierre Quiberon (western France) are now prohibited from access in the evening and at night. 51 cases were identified locally in a young audience who had participated in private parties or frequented bars.
