Verdict on The Avenger
The Avenger is an action thriller following a father trying to rebuild his life after the death of their son. He arranges a dream holiday which turns into a nightmare when his daughter is kidnapped in LA, leading to him going on a rampage to rescue her.
This movie shows the extremes that someone will go to rescue a child. It uses the same concepts as ‘Taken’ and presents a rawer environment. We get a good look at how the operation runs and how many people are involved, taking people without any worry about what is going on. It creates a hopeless world for the victims and shows Matt in a relentless nature to save his daughter. This shows that not everyone involved is as sinister as it seems but still breaking every law in the book. It makes for a great late night movie, with Mark Harris bringing to life an everyday reluctant hero.
