The Attack: BoKhalid and the Cheetah

By Umkhaloodie

BoKhalid and I are thinking of buying a dolphin for our pool, no, we aren’t but that’s just as silly as buying a cheetah for your dewania.

Just to clarify what a cheetah is:

The cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus) is a large feline (family Felidae, subfamily Felinae) inhabiting most of Africa and parts of the Middle East. It is the only extant member of the genus Acinonyx. The cheetah can run faster than any other land animal— as fast as 112 to 120 km/h (70 to 75 mph)[3][4][5][6][7][8] in short bursts covering distances up to 500 m (1,600 ft), and has the ability to accelerate from 0 to over 100 km/h (62 mph) in five seconds

That’s just what Wikipedia have to say.

Here’s my two pennies:

A Cheetah is a wild, vulnerable, endangered animal. While they may be lovely to look at, these animals are wild, they hunt their pray, they are one of the world’s fastest land mammals and one of the world’s natural born killers.

Why on earth would you get one and put it in the back of your Silverado and drive up the Gulf Road for all to see? Why would you bring one to your house?
Don’t get me wrong, if you have the facilities and the experience, go for it.
Males need approximately 62 square miles of territory to feel ‘at ease’. So your 10 x 30 feet dewania just isn’t big enough.

Look what Bokhalid banged into yesterday, and no, it is not ours and no, I do not want it.

When are people going to realize that these are not pets, nor will they get you the attention of any sane woman.
Of course, we all think they are cute/attractive animals but they shouldn’t be in our homes.

Kuwait need to stop this importation of wild animals/species. Are these being shipped into Shweikh Port and boxes not being opened?
We have had Brown Bears for sale in the past and just today I was told of the following; jaguar cubs, fennec fox cubs, lion cubs, panther cubs, tiger cubs and latest fad, Bengal and Siberian tiger cubs…. Really? Come on.

Save The Cheetahs

Don’t tell me they don’t attack humans, remember the story a few months back… No? This picture may jog your memory.

The cheetahs in question were hand raised by professionals in an animal sanctuary in South Africa, the attack still happened.

It’s time to be smart. Time to seriously stop allowing this. People should be ‘vetted’ and ‘interviewed’ and be given a license to own animals like this, not any Tom, Dick or Harry should be allowed to just ‘have a cheetah because his wallet and or family allows him too’.
