After almost five years away, The Appleseed Cast have returned with new single ‘Time the Destroyer’. It will appear on the emo legends’ new album ‘The Fleeting Light of Impermanence’ (out via Graveface Records on 28 June).
There’s an experimental and industrial edge to the first half of the song, with its synthy stabs and glitchy atmospherics sounding somewhat akin to 65daysofstatic and Cursive having a face-off. Vocals and huge-sounding drums kick in around the three-minute mark as the song veers into more post/math-rock territory.
It’s a statement of intent that you need to make time for.
