The Alsace is a thin patch of land on the northeastern edge of France and Germany that I find grand. It was given birth by Germany and adopted by France; both fought over custody through various wars until definitively, France won. Strasbourg has a mix of Bavarian and French architectures, while Colmar feels decidedly German, both with better food, better chocolate, better shopping, and a Monoprix. This is one of my favorite areas of Europe for its geographic location, proximity to Paris, and parts of Switzerland and Northern Italy, diverse cuisine, great shopping and overall charm.
Someone hire me in the European Parliament so I can live there forever.
