The older I get, the more I bear witness to the experience of old trends becoming new again. This past weekend, I ran to the mall and decided on a whim to stop in Forever21, which SERIOUSLY looked like it was stocked with all of my favorite picks from a 1990's Delia's catalog. There were jelly shoes, windbreaker pants and jackets, fanny packs, overalls - the list goes on and on. I'm not quite sure if I could ever wear jelly sandals again, but I have fully embraced windbreaker jackets (in neon, no less) and pants - much to the dismay of my mom who absolutely cannot stand the sound they make when I wear them. Sorry, mom!
I'm also very into the return of hair clip accessories right now. The current versions are much prettier and more sophisticated than the styles I used to wear in years past. Pretty pearls and rhinestones, fun wordplay, and designer options give these just the right amount of modern updating. In the spirit of fully embracing the modernized version of this 90's accessory, I ordered these pearl hair clips last week. Love!
