The 2.55

By Winyeemichelle
I borrowed this vintage Chanel 2.55 from my Mama a few weeks ago for a friend’s wedding that we were attending and it’s become quite the accompaniment to my summer outfits. Mama bought it with her hard-earned cash on her very first trip to Paris at the age of 18, a luxury handbag buying tradition that’d stay with her right through meeting Papa Daisy, becoming engaged, married, through to the present day. An object of such desire generations over, I can wholly see why this is such a treasured gem amongst the style set. I just love the butter-soft leather, the signature burgundy interior, peeking inside at the numbered tag (each Chanel bag has its own unique number) and how it is perfectly sized and formed to hold a phone, a key, a card and lipstick. It’s just perfect.
And what I possibly love even more is its innate ability to lend timelessness to any look, even a millennial pink and even-more-millennial Brunch Club that has graced the shoulders of twenty-something gals everywhere by now.
