Based on the novel by Roald Dahl, The BFG already launched a teaser that showed everyone a lot of potential. Plus, Spielberg is directing.
24) Central Intelligence
Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Aaron Paul
Looks like a fun summer action comedy. They’ve been hyping it up so long, it almost feels like a tentpole.
23) Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Vin Diesel, Steve Martin, Chris Tucker; Directed By Ang Lee
Diesel returns to serious acting, in another war themed movie. The last time he did that was Saving Private Ryan. Hopefully Ang Lee can pull greatness from him.
22) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out Of The Shadows
Starring: Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Stephen Amell
I wasn’t initially excited about the prospect of a sequel, then I saw Bebop and Rocksteady, and the little kid in me got really excited. Plus, Casey Jones, Shredder is back, and Tyler Perry is Baxter Stockman.
21) Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Starring: Lily James, Lena Headey, Matt Smith, Jack Huston, Douglas Booth
I wasn’t blown away by the trailer, but I remain hopeful that this film won’t suck.
20) Zootopia
With The Voices Of: Jason Bateman, Ginnifer Goodwin, Idris Elba, JK Simmons
Looks cute. I like Disney films, so this is a fairly easy sell for me. Hopefully it’s not like either Home On The Range or The Wild, both which were spring Disney entries.
19) Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children
Starring: Eva Green, Samuel L Jackson, Asa Butterfield
I read the book, so that’s why I’m excited. Lots of potential in this franchise. It could very well be the “next big thing”.
18) Assassins Creed
Starring: Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Brendan Gleeson
I wish a more well known director was on this film. I’m a little worried that it’ll end up like Hitman.
17) Jack Reacher: Never Go Back
Starring: Tom Cruise, Cobie Smulders, Aldis Hodge
The first one surprised me. I wasn’t expecting to love it, and I did. It might help make Cobie Smulders a star (plus the new Captain America movie).
16) Doctor Strange
Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor
I’m pleased that they picked Cumberbatch over Joaquin Phoenix. Another Marvel movie. Should be a slam dunk.
15) Matt Damon as Jason Bourne

Greengrass and Damon return to the Bourne franchise. The last time they did, it was excellent. I’m excited.
14) Moana
Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Alan Tudyk; With Songs By Lin Manuel Miranda
Lin Manuel Miranda (Hamilton/In The Heights) is turning Moana into the next Frozen. I love his music.
13) Star Trek Beyond
Starring: Chris Pine, Idris Elba, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban; Directed By Justin Lin
JJ Abrams hands off his other space exploration franchise to Justin Lin. I’m somehow a little worried, and a little disappointed, but I’m trying to also remain optimistic.
12) Independence Day: Resurgence
Starring: Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Liam Hemsworth, Sela Ward
The preview was better than expected. Hopefully it doesn’t take itself too seriously.
11) Star Wars: Rogue One
Starring: Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelson, Ben Mendelsohn, Alan Tudyk, Diego Luna; Directed By Gareth Edwards
Sorry, but Godzilla was awful. I’m not looking forward to Gareth’s super serious dark take on Star Wars. Awful choice for this franchise. I’m only excited now because of the cast, and because its Star Wars.
10) Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them
Harry Potter fans, this is what we get when we ask for more. Hopefully, it does the series some justice. It’s not quite Harry Potter, but it still feels like home.
9) Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
My excitement for this film is dampened a bit by my disappointment over Man of Steel. I’m still very intrigued and excited, but it all seems like a lot, very fast. I feel like Superman just got his reboot, origin, and now he has to deal with every other superhero in the known world. Iron Man at least got two movies before joining the Avengers.
8) Zoolander 2
Yeah, I’m excited for Zoolander 2. I loved the first one. It’s so quotable. Hopefully the sequel doesn’t let me down. The previews look funny. We haven’t had a really good comedy in a while.
7) Finding Dory
It might seem like an unnecessary sequel, but you could say the same thing about Toy Story 2 or Monsters University. Hopefully, Finding Dory is more like those, and less like Cars 2.
6) Suicide Squad
A movie about villains. That’s a bold decision. Hopefully it pays off. I’m excited to see how this pans out, and yes, slightly more excited than the Batman V Superman movie.
5) Ghostbusters
I’m stoked for the female reboot of this. Everyone on board, from Paul Feig, to the brilliant cast of Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, Kristin Wiig, and Kate McKinnon, seems perfect. I hope I’m not disappointed.
4) Captain America: Civil War
In a normal year, this would be #1. However, I’m a huge nerd when it comes to all things X-Men, and this is the perfect year to be an X-Men fan. I get THREE X-Men movies in one year. Yo. But, I’m just as excited to see if Cap lives or dies in his Civil War.
3) Gambit
I’m excited for a Gambit movie, and I’m learning to be OK with Channing Tatum as Gambit. Hopefully he’s been working on his cajun accent this whole time.
2) Deadpool
I’m hoping that all the best jokes aren’t in the trailers, because I still want my mind blown when I see the film. But, this film has the best trailers. Hands down. Great marketing campaign.
1) X-Men: Apocalypse
Another X-Men film, and they’re finally adding Psylocke to the movie roster! And this time, the villain really IS the big one. Apocalypse changed the landscape for the X-Men forever. In the comics, lots of X-Men die in Age Of Apocalypse, so this might be a very brutal X-Men film. Someone’s gotta die to raise the stakes. Will it finally be Wolverine?
