This week marks one of the most important events in girl world - The ten year anniversary of Mean Girls. I was the tender age of twelve when this now cult film was released and I can still remember racing out of school at the end of the week and going with a group of friends to the local cinema (still in our uniform, how cool where we?) to see this, followed swiftly by the then obligatory trip to Pizza Hut for dinner. Were officially a whole decade on from the very day that Mean Girls first came to our attention and I'm sure that I'm not the only person out there who still finds themselves quoting lines from the film to this day. I can't actually think of a 'girlie' film that has taken the world by storm since this one, sure many have tried but none have managed to come close to the sheer perfection of Mean Girls and one of my favorite scenes in the film of poor Gretchen Wieners having a full on meltdown in the middle of her history class over a pair of expensive white-gold hoops. The film is now firmly cemented in pop culture and I'm sure that it's bound to entertain many generations to come, so the last thing I guess I can say is thank you Mean Girls for teaching me the most important lesson of my life, on Wednesdays we wear pink. What is your favorite memory/quote/scene from Mean Girls? Let me know in the comments below?
