The release date of Thalaiva starring Ilayathalapathy Vijay seems to have been locked as August 9. This would now mean three stars from different industries having their big releases around the same time. As we already know Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan is coming with his Chennai Express on August 8, similarly Tollywood will most likely see a Powerstar Pawan Kalyan release on the same time.
While the clash means nothing individually in their territories, it’s on the combined grounds (Karnataka and Chennai for Hindi and Telugu releases) and overseas (for Tamil release) where we might see an effect for sure. And hence there could be a last minute change in the release dates for the Telugu and Tamil films with them being either preponed or postponed during the last minutes.
Incidentally SRK and Vijay have had a clash in 2011 as well when Ra.one starring SRK and Velayudham starring Vijay released on the same day for Diwali.
