Tezos NFT showcases top Asian artists at Singapore Art Week's SEA Focus 2023

SEA Focus 2023, the main event of Singapore Art Week, will focus on the effectiveness and potential of NFTs as an artistic medium. The best Layer 1 Proof-of-Stake blockchain, Tezos, will power the exhibition “Living Systems: An NFT Show,” which will feature collections by six of the top Southeast Asian artists, each with their own unique style and themes, from January 6 to January 15, 2023.

The Tezos exhibit made headlines at the Singapore Art Week at the 2022 edition of the event because it was the first exhibition powered by a public blockchain to display an NFT collection with an Asian focus at SEA Focus. In addition to being able to take home a special edition of one of the works on display as a digital keepsake, visitors to the NFT Showcase at SEA FOCUS 2023 will be immersed in an interactive NFT art experience through visual and audio formats.

“Living Systems: An NFT Show,” a 55m2 exhibition organized by Mama Magnet, is located in Tanjong Pagar Distripark. Works by well-known local and regional artists will be displayed within the Tezos ecosystem. Some of them are the Indonesian discokid909, the Singaporean Yakha Amelz, the late Malaysian Orkibal, the Filipino Bjorn Calleja, the CwndDien, and the Iranian Reza Hasani. The exchange of rituals is depicted in “Living Systems: An NFT Show” within the context of evolving trends in technology, material, mental space, and time. This relates to “A World, New,” which serves as SEA FOCUS 2023’s curatorial theme. The visual and/or auditory language of the artists alternates between human and humanoid forms. As a result, conversations about how people live—from activity to rest to the ordinary to the extraordinary as they move through life—become self-reflective.

Each visitor will receive a copy of one of the most well-liked works of art from the six artists who were asked to create three pieces of art each for this unique show. The most recent Tezos exhibitions at Art Basel Hong Kong were among the cutting-edge exhibitions in which the TZ APAC team participated. They are in charge of managing this interactive activation, which was developed in cooperation with the Tezos-based NFT platform akaSwap. The classroom has experienced activation. even Moments of Jakarta Art. The Tezos blockchain wallet, which can be created instantly with just a few clicks, will be used to claim and store the NFT.

Bjorn Calleja is a contemporary Filipino painter and multidisciplinary artist. Being a part of “Living Systems: An NFT Show” gives him a platform to strengthen his community and identity. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to represent my art as well as the communities I’m a part of, such as the Filipino NFT community and Tezos artists, as well as every facet of who I am and what my art stands for. “NFT is evolving into a new movement as a type of art,” it was said. Many Southeast Asian artists are using NFT technology to communicate with the rest of the world, address global issues, and support their artistic endeavors. They are also using it to express our heritage, culture, and identity on a global scale.

Singaporean motion designer and illustrator Reza Hasani agrees that “Web3 makes things a lot easier and more transparent as smart contracts and royalties can be handled equitably” and expresses similar enthusiasm for the potential of NFTs as a medium for art. It is designed to facilitate the exchange of artwork between collectors. This work can be created, bought, and sold anywhere in the world. Digital art could potentially spark an interesting discussion to streamline it, similar to how other non-art industries might use it.

The adoption of NFTs validates artists’ optimism. Four of the top ten nations in the worldwide NFT adoption table are from Southeast Asia, a region with a sizable tech-savvy and mobile-first population.
David Tng, Head of Development at TZ APACsaid: “Southeast Asian artists are actively embracing NFTs as a medium to share their work, which has enabled them to reach a global audience, be fairly compensated for their artwork, and have become positive change-makers for their communities. Having the opportunity to showcase some of the world’s leading talent is recognition for the Tezos ecosystem. It is a great way to advance Southeast Asian art across all mediums, including NFTs, and showcase it on a global platform. In line with SEA FOCUS’ commitment to further innovation, we look forward to celebrating the spirit of innovation in today’s art sector with visitors to an exhibition showcasing the diversity and dynamism of NFTs as a digital art medium. I can expect a wide range of experience.

Living Systems: An NFT Show’ It aims to connect and empower artists around the world through blockchain technology, an ethos that is at the heart of the Tezos ecosystem. It is an activism that grows out of a year of collaborating with leading arts events around the world and developing partnerships dedicated to advancing the creative economy. Crypto and Web3 entrepreneur Cordell Broadus recently partnered with the Tezos Foundation to launch the Champ Medici Art Fund, a $1 million initiative to support emerging artists in Asia and around the world.

Building communities in the NFT space and the merging of artificial intelligence and the arts are just two of the important issues that will be tackled on two panels organized by the TZ APAC team in collaboration with SEA Focus, along with welcoming attendees to “Living Systems: An NFT Show.” Because of its economical minting and trading of NFTs and its energy-efficient construction, Tezos has attracted a large international community of artists, collectors, and builders. More artists than ever are choosing to publish their work on Tezos as a result of the inclusion of significant NFT platforms like Teia. art, akaSwap, fxhash, and objkt.com in the platform. On fxhash alone, more than 1.2 million unique works of generative art have been collected in under a year.
