The elections of 2008 and 2012 set early voting records in Texas -- both in raw numbers and as a percentage of registered voters. The charts above (from the 15 most populated counties in the state) show that the 2016 election is easily breaking the records set in 2008 and 2012. The figures shown are from the office of the Texas Secretary of State, and represent the first seven days of early voting in each of those years.
