Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, already said that new roadster, originally planned for this year delayed. However, it sounds like a firmer timeframe is looming as the electric car maker prepares for its second factory in the U.S.
According to comments made by Musk during the automaker's second quarter earnings call, the roadster could start production next year, but is unlikely to be installed Austin, Texas - the soon home of Tesla's newest US Gigafactory. Instead, Musk said the roadster is a better candidate for its current Fremont, California facility.

Expect Tesla to have started the Cybertruck when the Roadster shows up Half. Musk previously said on the Joe Rogan's experience Podcast that it makes more sense to lift the electric pickup and tractor-trailer off the ground before you concentrate on a sports car. Both the Cybertruck and the Semi are scheduled to start production next year. If everything goes according to plan, the new Gigafactory in Texas will be online within the next 12 to 18 months.
