Terrorist activities increasing across Afghanistan in Taliban regime: Envoy

There has been a significant increase in terrorist activities throughout Afghanistan since the Taliban is in power and has a "symbiotic relationship" with various terror groups, Afghan Ambassador Farid Mamundzay said on Friday.

Afghanistan's envoy to India, which was appointed by the Ashraf Ghani government, previously, also said that Afghan people were experiencing "the darkest when the darkest in one generation" now because the country faces the economic, security and political crisis.

The fall of Kabul in August last year triggered humanity, security and complex political crisis and Afghanistan was experiencing the darkest when the darkest in one generation today," he said at a conference organized by TV9 Bharatvarsh News Channel.

After the US withdrawal (troops) from Afghanistan and the return of the Taliban, there was a significant increase in terrorist activities throughout the country," Mamundzay said.

UTI (Islamic-Korasan) has gained more strength, Al-Qaeda is increasing again. In the first 10 months since the fall of Kabul, the size of the UTI has doubled from 2,000 to 4,000, mostly due to the release of ISK prisoners," he added.

The ambassador said that as long as the Taliban existed in Afghanistan in the "current form", there would be an increase in terrorist activities, including terrorist and infrastructure asylums needed to ride a terror network.

There is an increase in terror groups and their activities. As long as there are no changes in the political landscape, there will be further damage in the current circumstances," he said.

Mamundzay said that 21 terrorist groups were in Afghanistan and the current economic crisis provided a perfect" foundation for such groups to recruit people.

Afghanistan is weak and a failed country, which is a prerequisite for every terrorist sheet. There is no work, economy without cash and people experience a difficult economic condition. This is the perfect basis for terror groups to recruit people," he says.

This is a regional and international phenomenon. Afghanistan is a victim of terrorism. There is not a single regional or international incident where Afghan citizens are involved. But we pay prices for terrorism," he said.

We have been left alone. We have been humiliated by the West. The West negotiated an agreement with the Taliban where they sent it to the Taliban, but they failed to submit to the Afghan people. Where we are now because of an agreement that failed in failure with the Taliban in Doha , "he said.
