Leslie Hamilton Freas, Linda Hamilton's twin sister and understudy in "Terminator 2", passed away last week.
StudioCanalLeslie Hamilton Freas, twin sister of Linda Hamilton, passed away on Saturday August 22 at the age of 63. His only appearance on the big screen in 1991, during the final act of Terminator 2, greatly contributed to the success of an unforgettable streak in the film.
At the request of James Cameron, this nurse by profession had indeed agreed to share a scene with her sister. She thus embodied the formidable T-1000, metamorphosed into Sarah Connor in order to trap her son John in the foundry. The future leader of the resistance against the machines thus found himself facing two perfectly identical versions of his mother, without being able to guess which was the real one. An economy of digital effects and an ingenious stratagem for a particularly realistic result which still works perfectly today.

This technique had already been used earlier in the film, when the vigilante of the mental asylum was killed by his double in front of a coffee machine. There again, James Cameron had used two twins (Don and Dan Stanton) to interpret the scene.
Leslie Hamilton Freas, who never made a film again, had attended the premiere of Terminator 2 alongside his sister.
