With its historical buildings, historical colleges and universities there are hundreds of reasons to visit Cambridgeshire located in the East of England. But where should you stay the night? I have stayed in quite a few hotels and inns in Cambridgeshire and this is what I think are ten of the very best of them all based on my own personal experience…

Don’t let its high-prices put you off this very sophisticated hotel, as it really is a touch of luxury and comfort. Located just a short walk from Cambridge railway station it is one of those hotels you can visit without a car and still get to see most the sights around the city. It features some of the best beds and rooms you will find in the local area as well as an elegant restaurant with a marble bar!
Regent Hotel, Regent St, Cambridge – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
Don’t let the fact that this hotel is named after the road it is on put you off staying here. It still has that luxury and comfort you would expect from a hotel of that name and it is all wrapped up in an old Georgian townhouse with pretty amazing views of Parker’s Piece park. You also get free Wi-Fi and a continental breakfast!
The Old Bridge Hotel, High Street, Huntingdon – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
If you like wine this could be the best place to stay in Cambridgeshire. This 18th-century townhouse with impressive views overlooking the River Great Ouse is a short walk from both the Cromwell Museum and Houghton Mill. And for wine lovers? There is upscale dining (with a fine selection of wines) and a wine shop.

If you want to know the best bargain place to stay in while on a trip to Cambridge you need to look no further than Rectory Farm. This Georgian country house is just 4 miles away from the City Center and features some pretty amazing things for the price you are paying, including access to an outdoor swimming pool!
The Old Hall Ely, Stuntney, Ely – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
This restored Jacobean manor has some pretty amazing features and it also has its own gardens & lakes for you to explore. While it is little more than an upscale bed-and-breakfast I think it is a little touch of historical class at a pretty reasonable price.
Old Ferry Boat, Holywell Front, St Ives – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
With its thatched roof and whitewashed exterior this classic pub inn ticks all the right boxes. It is also thought to be Britain’s oldest inn and maybe that is because of its impressive views of the Great Ouse river that has allowed it to stand the test of time.
The Hippodrome, Dartford Road, March – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
You are probably wondering why I would suggest staying at a cinema! Well…it was indeed a cinema in 1929 but has since then been converted into an Art Deco hotel with 13 rooms that are all en suite. If you want somewhere quirky to stay this has to be right up there and I have to say the rooms are more spacious than you might think.
University Arms Hotel, Regent St, Cambridge – Book Now: >> CLICK HERE <<
If you plan on seeing the Fitzwilliam Museum and Mary the Great this impressively polished hotel offers rooms larger than most peoples houses and even has a pretty great restaurant, bar and gym onsite. While some might say the price is a little high I think it is bang on point for what you get.
