Ten Books I Recommend Most Often

By Curlygeek04 @curlygeek04

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is the books we recommend the most to others.

Nonfiction:

As I was making my list, I noticed that nonfiction came up more than fiction. I think that’s because fiction is so much more dependent on individual tastes, where great nonfiction can appeal to many readers. I know my sisters gravitate more to nonfiction, so these are some of the books I’ve recommended to them.

  • Know My Name by Chanel Miller
  • Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson
  • Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer
  • Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
  • Save Me the Plums by Ruth Reichl

  • Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angelina Boulley
  • The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Classics:

I don’t recommend classics as often, since they don’t resonate with every reader, but I’m throwing in a few of my favorites here.

  • Emma by Jane Austen
  • The Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy
  • The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath

Most of these are books you’ll have heard of, but I tried to throw in a few that are less well known. These are the books I find myself recommending most often. If you’re looking for book recommendations, please reach out to me here.
