We have already seen some pretty amazing sofas made from various recycled materials, but now it is time to look at armchairs. The term armchair means “a comfortable chair with side supports for a person’s arms.” OK, so some of these don’t look all that comfortable, but they do have armrests and they are all made recycled things. From Bathtubs to some things you simply won’t believe…
Tyres
These armchairs made from what looks like car tyres do look oddly comfortable. At least they are made with rubber which is kind of soft, unlink many of the other armchairs on this list.
Recycled Plastic
This armchair doesn’t take much work at all and is pretty much made from the same plastic things we all try and recycle every day. So it wouldn’t be that hard to hold some back and make one of these chairs.
Computer Parts
Some of these parts used to make this chair look like they are from the 1970s! At least there is comfortable padding to sit down on. It was made by BRC Designs and is more of an art project than something practical to use.
Corks
If you plan to use old wine bottle corks you might want to have a lot more wine tasting parties that is for sure. I think this armchair could be surprisingly comfortable, but it might be a bit smelly as well.
Beer Cans
You are going to need to drink a lot of beer to make one of these chairs, but at least it looks nice and would be perfect for a man-cave. I just hope all those cans were washed out thoroughly.
Bathtub
I suppose an old bathtub is a perfect shape for armchair as it was already designed to be sat in comfortably. I’m not sure about those skinny looking chair legs, but the actual sit looks pretty comfortable.
Wooden Pallets
You often see little wooden pallets if you work in places that use them, so why not take some of those pallets and turn them into a pretty cute looking armchair!
Car Parts
This armchair is made with parts taken from an old 1968 Renault car and has a nice retro feel to it. It will need a lot of work to turn an old car into one of these retro chairs, but I think it would be well worth the effort.
Clothes and Rags
Have you ever wondered where all those clothes you take to the recycling end up? Well, some of them might end up inside an armchair! OK, so that is probably not going to happen, but you could always make your own!
Oil Drum
And last but not least we have one made from an old metal drum. You will need some serious metal craft skills to pull this one off, but I think it looks rather comfy.
