Teenager Risks Prison Term For Stealing IKEDC Wire

An Ejigbo Magistrates' Courtroom has arraigned a young person recognized as Mustapha Abdullahi, for allegedly stealing a cable value N75,000 from a transformer, NAN experiences.

The 19-year outdated, residing within the Igando space of Lagos, faces one depend cost of stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Benedict Aigbokhan, mentioned the felony occurred on December 24, 2021, at Oje Olorunfemi Avenue, Egan, Igando.

The police officer advised the courtroom that Abdullahi's motion threw the neighborhood into darkness.

The theft of the cable, an Ikeja Electrical Distribution Firm (IKEDC) property, contravened Part 287 of the Legal Regulation of Lagos State, 2015.

The part gives three years imprisonment for the offence.

Abdullahi pleaded not responsible to the cost.

The Justice of the Peace, Mr E. O. Ogunkanmi, granted him N100,000 bail.

The defendant should providesureties employed; they have to present proof of tax fee to the Lagos State Authorities.

The case was adjourned till February 21 for additional listening to.
