Team Synergy: 5 Fun Team Games to Try with Your Employees

About 70 percent of Americans aren't working to their full potential, and the vast majority of these employees are disengaged. Engaged employees are close to their team and are loyal.

How can you get your employees more engaged and productive? One way is team building.

If you can build your team synergy, you can become a more productive workforce. Here are 5 fun team games to try with your employees to do just that.

1. Truth and Lies

Have everyone sit in a circle and face each other. Each person gives three facts about themselves and one lie. The other team members need to guess which one is the lie.

This is a great ice breaker and helps new employees get to know each other. Learning something fun about others helps team members feel connected, and they may find they have common interests.

2. Scavenger Hunt

Divide your team into two groups. Make a list of items for them to find throughout the office with clues. The first team to find all these items wins.

This is a great collaboration game because everyone needs to work together. You can find examples online to help you come up with the clues and items.

3. Minefield

This is an ultimate game of trust as your team members have to rely on each other to meet their goal. You can do this inside or outside.

Make sure the area is clear so someone does not trip. Place little mines throughout this area. Use something soft like styrofoam cups or cones.

Divide your group into teams. Each team member takes a turn going through the obstacle area blindfolded. The other team members have to guide them to safety.

If a person bumps a mine, he or she has to start over. The team that gets all members over to safety first wins.

4. Reverse Charades

This is a fun take on the popular game. The team knows what the word is, but the person who should perform does not. The rest of the team gives hints, but can't say the word.

The "it" person has to guess the word while multiple people are acting out the clue.

5. Offsite Games

Sometimes getting away from it all is a great way to bond. You could volunteer with a local charity like Habitat for Humanity or a local animal shelter. Your employees can get to know each other and feel good about what they are doing.

If you want, you could try local places like an arcade, Escape Room, or bumper cars. These places are another great way to have fun. You can even go outside for a fun game of football.
