Power: “ability to do; capacity to act:
Prosperity: “success, wealth”
We want to be powerfully active and actively powerful as Christians. We want to be successful in all that the Lord gives us to do.
We are going to look into God’s Word at the lives and secrets of five of the most successful men who ever lived. Through these men we are going to ask the Holy Spirit to teach us to be powerful and prosperous in the family of God.

Step #1
Noah obeyed God — Genesis 6:22, “Thus did Noah; according to all that commanded him, so did he.”
Notice that Noah not only heard what God said, he also did all that God commanded. There is a difference between hearing and doing what God says. (Preach)
Step #2
Jacob separated for God — Genesis 35:2-4, “Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.” (Preach)
Step #3
Joseph lived in the presence of God — Genesis 39:2-3, “And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.”
- Joseph had a daily relationship with God
- Joseph was a prosperous man because of this relationship
- Potiphar watched Joseph and saw that God was with him
- Potiphar saw that God blessed Joseph in all that he did
Introspective Questions:
- Do we have a daily relationship with God?
- Are we prosperous?
- Do others who watch us daily see God in us?
- Do others who watch us daily see God blessing us in all that we do?
Step #4
Moses remembered, rehearsed and required of Israel — Deuteronomy (entire Book)
- Moses remembered the Work of the Lord — Deuteronomy 1:1
- Moses rehearsed the Word of the Lord — Deuteronomy 1:6
- Moses required the fear of the Lord — Deuteronomy 10:12
“And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”
Step #5
Joshua succeeded in the “all” of God — Joshua 1:7-8, “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
- Meditate — day and night
- Be — strong and courageous
- Do — all the law, not turn from it
