Taken from the Letters of Paul to Timothy
The Church Leader Should:
21. Not take a widow into the care of the Church unless:
- She is more than 60 years of age
- She was the wife of one man
- She was well reported of for good works
- She brought up children
- She was hospitable to strangers
- She has been a servant to the Church
- She has given relief to the afflicted
- She has followed every good work with diligence
22. Not take younger widows into the care of the Church because they will remarry
23. Teach that elders that rule well are to be counted worthy of double honor
24. Not receive an accusation against an elder without having two or three witnesses
25. Rebuke unrepentant elders before the whole Church, so that others may also fear
26. Not be preferential or partial in his treatment of Church members
27. Not send a man into the ministry quickly or suddenly
28. Keep himself pure in every area of his rule and administration of the Church
29. Teach servants (e.g. employees) to honor their masters (e.g. employers), especially if they are saved
30. Withdraw from those who teach contrary to the exhortation of Jesus and His apostles
