Teaching Notes: On Doing Your Best

By Mmcgee4

Teaching Notes are Bible studies we taught before GraceLife Ministries began publishing articles online in 1995. Some were presented as sermons, others as group studies.

Our hope is that these older studies will be a blessing to you in your life and ministry. Please use them in any way God leads you.

These teaching notes are from a study in 2 Timothy.

[These notes are from a study taught more than 40 years ago. The notes are in outline form.]

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” NIV

do your best – spoudason – use speed, be eager, make effort

to present – parastēsai – to stand beside

approved – dokimon – acceptable

a workman – ergatēn – a toiler, laborer

who does not need to be ashamed – anepaischynton – unashamed

correctly handles – orthotomounta – to make a straight cut, to dissect correctly, to handle correctly

word of truth – logon tēs alētheias – the expression of thoughts which are true

[Thank you for reading these teaching notes from more than 40 years ago. My prayer is they will be a blessing to you and your ministry.]
