Last August 6, after watching the International Red and White Singing Competition and almost cried watching the movie Sweet Bean from the last day of EIGASAI 2017, together with my good friend Janine, we went restaurant scouting to satisfy our churning stomach. But instead of a Japanese restaurant, we found ourselves at Lemon Grass Restaurant which offers a mix of Thai and Vietnamese cuisine.
The surrounding of the restaurant was very catchy with its calming green backdrop. And the foods, even if we don’t know how to read them looks yummy. Plus their servings good for three person which is really good for the price.

Our experience
It was both our first time trying Thai and Vietnamese cuisine so I’m not really sure if I like it that much.
For the food presentation, it was really good that just by looking at it makes my mouth water. Definitely Instagram-perfect! Their menu is so properly compiled in a big hard paper complete with pictures, price and the main ingredients thus making it easier for us to pick our orders. The prices for me was reasonable since all the dishes we’re good for 2-3 persons. I also love the outfits of the waiter and waitresses. And all of them were very accommodating too.
We ordered a lot for just the two of us thus making me feel fat after the feast haha. The food we order were:
- Tom Yam Thale (Sour and Spicy Seafood Soup)
– It tastes ok when hot but once it cool down, it’s appeal is gone.
- Ga Nuong Voi Ngu Vu Nuong (Grilled Vietnamese Chicken)
– it tastes ordinary and there was a piece that still has blood in it.
- Pad Thai (Thai Spicy Rice Noodle)
– Janine and I both agreed that we liked it.
- Bagoong Fried Rice
– It was both Janine and my favorite. I don’t really eat rice that much but that night, I did. I was already full but it wasn’t hard to force myself to eat more since this was really really good even without any accompanying food.
- Thai Iced Tea
– Janine liked it and when I tasted it, it was fine but not exactly my cup of tea.
- Lychee Juice
– Not bad but not really that good. Just enough to quench my thirst.
- Che Ba Mau
– Reminds me of Filipino Halo-halo but with lesser ingredients. Tastes good too.
