Actress and Director, Tasha Smith congratulated Mary J. Blige on her Oscar nominations for Mudbound, and revealed she coached the singer/actress for her role as Florence Jackson in the award nominated film.
Tasha Smith, who owns Tasha Smith, Actors Workshop in L.A. shared the news on Instagram Tuesday morning after the nominations were announced. Also encouraging her other students to dream big, and work hard.

Mary J. Blige shared with the Los Angeles Times after her nominations for Best Supporting Actor, and Original Song (Mighty River) were announced, that she couldn’t stop crying.
