Tantrum Doughnuts  will be opening a permanent location in Glasgow after popping up all over the place and teasing us. Their doors will open at 9 a.m. on Thursday 17th December at 35 Old Dumbarton Road. The premises – formerly occupied by Cushion and Cake – are located at the end of Argyle Street in Finnieston.

They will sell freshly-fried and glazed doughnuts; filled with home-made custards, jams and purées; from an open kitchen, with no artificial additives, preservatives, sweeteners, colourants or E-numbers to be found in Tantrum Doughnut’s recipe book. The shop – which will seat 16 covers – will also serve freshly-ground coffee from Papercup Coffee Company and milkshakes to sit-in and takeaway visitors.

The husband and wife team behind Tantrum Doughnuts are Pastry Chef, Iain Baillie – formerly of The Fat Duck, One Devonshire Gardens, Gleneagles Hotel and, most recently, Ox and Finch – and Maltese-born, Annika.

Iain, who is originally from Perth, enthuses on the opening of Tantrum Doughnut’s first shop: “We are thrilled to be pushing forward and bringing Tantrum Doughnuts to the next level. Being able to offer our specialised doughnuts from a permanent location gives us a massive boost in terms of our offering and will raise the stakes creatively for us as a team.”
