Toronto punks Talk Show Host have signed to Wiretap Records and shared the video for ‘This Monologue’ ahead of the release of a full-length album in 2021.
The band have played shows with Planes Mistaken for Stars and Pet Symmetry and this potent slice of melodic power pop (think Pup meets Press Club) finds the band trying to get to grips with mental health struggles and moving forward – albeit with a dose of wariness: ‘I’ve gotta get outside and I’ve gotta quit my hiding; I’m not there, I swear I’ll start tomorrow’; ‘Don’t be so sensitive, nervous and negative. A final warning: would you try to not embarrass me again?’
